ENOC Group is celebrating the achievements of female Emirati employees at the Group to the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day.

The celebrations of Emirati Women’s Day were initially introduced by H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in 2015, coinciding with the founding of the UAE’s General Women’s Union, launched on August 28, 1975.

Themed “Preparing for the next 50 years: women are the support of the nation”, this year’s celebrations are in line with the UAE’s strategic vision to prepare for the next 40 years as the country approaches is Golden Jubilee in 2021.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “We firmly believe that Emirati women play a role in shaping the growth and development of our nation. As a leading player across the energy value chain, we place strong emphasis on ensuring equal opportunities for women who work in the energy sector and always look for ways to enable their personal and professional growth.

“Applying global best practices for training and skills development, we are working towards elevating our national human capital, and are focusing on equipping Emirati women with the skillsets they need to take on more opportunities and contribute to realising the UAE’s aspirations to become a global hub for innovation in technology.”

ENOC Group has an established Women’s Committee that aims to empower women within the Group and encourages their participation and contribution across ENOC’s various internal and external platforms.

“The establishment of our women’s committee is a true testament to our Group’s efforts to promote and foster a culture of equal opportunity for both women and men. Today we see ample evidence that an organisation’s prospects are conditioned by how engaged women are in the workforce. Industries are now realising that empowering women is a driver of an organisation’s success.”
