The ENOC Journey

Over the past 30 years, ENOC has evolved from a local oil and gas player to a global operator across various aspects of the energy sector value chain. Now servicing thousands of customers across 60 markets, ENOC is deploying talent and technology to diversify its offerings to achieve sustainable development.

Establishment of ENOC

  1. 1974

    Formation of CALGAS Bottling Company

    Dubai Shipping Company LLC (DSC) began transporting LPG to Bahrain

  2. 1976

    Commenced operations in CALGAS Company LLC.

  3. 1977

    Commenced operations in CALGAS Company LLC.
    DuGas establishment

  4. 1980

    DUGAS began commercial production of liquids

    Formation of Emirates Bunkering and Bitumen Company (EBBCO)

  5. 1981

    CALGAS Bottling Company became wholly-owned by the Government of Dubai and renamed to Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS)

  6. 1984

    Completion of DUGAS's second onshore gas plant

    Completion of DUGAS-DEWA 24 inch pipeline and 12 inch pipeline from Jebel Ali to Fateh Field

  7. 1988

    EBBCO renamed Emirates Petroleum Products Company (LLC) (EPPCO)

  8. 1989

    Completion of DUGAS Margham-Jebel Ali pipeline

    Formation of Emirates Terminals Limited

  9. 1996

    ENOC's joint venture with Chevron, EPPCO International Limited (EIL), is established in Jebel Ali.

  10. 1997

    Emirates Terminals Ltd is fully acquired by ENOC

  11. 1999

    ENOC acquires the majority stake in Dragon Oil PLC.

    ENOC Processing Company LLC (EPCL) commissions 120,000 barrels per stream day.

    TASJEEL, a joint venture between EPPCO and Dubai Police, is formed for the purpose of vehicle registration and testing.

    ENOC and VOPAK commission terminal venture in Fujairah.

  12. 2001

    ENOC International Sales LLC (ENOC Marketing LLC) is formed to takeover aviation fuel marketing from EPPCO Projects LLC.

    ENOC Supply & Trading LLC (ESTL) is incorporated to handle the group's supply requirements and for commodity oil trading.

  13. 2002

    ENOC only owns 35.5% of Arabtank Terminals Limited, the current wording implies that it is wholly-owned by ENOC.

  14. 2005

    ENOC acquires the remaining stake in EPPCO from Chevron.

  15. 2006

    Horizon Singapore Terminals Private Limited is established in Singapore

    Horizon Djibouti Terminals Limited is established in Djibouti

    Horizon Taeyoung Korea Terminals Limited is acquired

  16. 2009

    ENOC Lubricants & Grease Manufacturing Plant LLC becomes operational

  17. 2010

    The refining unit upgrade project is completed, with the installation of a hydrotreater and reformer unit.

  18. 2012

    HTL commissions a new terminal in Morocco - Horizon Tangiers Terminals SA, as well as the expansion (Phase VI) of the existing terminal at VHFL.

  19. 2013

    Completion of Fujairah Distribution Terminal

    Acquisition of two medium range panamax vessels

  20. 2014

    The debottlenecking project at DUGAS is completed.

    Construction completion of Project Falcon (Jebel Ali Facility and 58-km pipeline to Dubai International Airport).

  21. 2015

    Acquisition of 46% non-controlling interest in Dragon Oil

    Purchase of a lube blending facility in Jebel Ali with an annual capacity of 250 MT.

  22. 2016

    $1bn Jebel Ali Refinery expansion project announced. Upon completion, refinery to produce 210,000 barrels per day. The expected date for commercial production is Q4 of 2019.

  23. 2017

    ENOC launches Biodiesel5 in the UAE.
    ENOC announces Dragon Oil new Board of Directors.
    ENOC Group announces plans to power all future service stations in UAE with solar energy.

  24. 2018

    ENOC pilots first relocatable fuel station in Dubai.
    ENOC announces ‘service station of the future’ as Expo 2020 Dubai’s Official Integrated Energy Partner.
    ENOC launches its accelerator programme, Next.

  25. 2019

    ENOC Group acquires shares in Cairo International Airport’s fuel hydrant.
    ENOC signs with ProServ to set up ENOC Misr.
    ENOC Group unveils ENOC Link and Beema, its first accelerator-related digital ventures.
    ENOC refinery’s expansion project construction was completed.
    ENOC rolls out ENOCPay.

  26. 2020

    ENOC Group launches ‘Yes’ rewards programme.
    ENOC Group wins Dubai Quality Gold Award.
    ENOC’s refinery wins ‘National and GCC O&G Project of the year’

  27. 2021

    ENOC Link rolled out the world’s first eLink Stations across the UAE.
    Beema wins at the Leaders in FinTech Award.
    ENOC opens the Service Station of the Future at Expo 2020 Dubai.
    ENOC Group wins prestigious ‘Sword of Honour’ award by British Safety Council.
