Fahad Askar
Managing Director, Horizon Terminals
Fahad is a seasoned professional with over 26 years of experience spanning the oil and gas industry. As Horizon Terminals’ Managing Director, Fahad Askar leads a network of international terminals and joint ventures in multiple regions. Fahad is also responsible for maintaining current customer relationships in addition to amplifying and sustaining revenues. He also represents ENOC on the boards of group companies including that of Horizon Terminals Limited and its subsidiaries in multiple locations, including UAE, Saudi, Singapore, Djibouti and Morocco.
Prior to joining ENOC Group in 1999, Fahad started his career with Emarat in 1997. He played multiple key roles there, including supervising new projects, petroleum terminal operations, and an LPG filling plant.
At ENOC, Fahad played an essential role in the projects of ENOC group such as Jabel Ali refinery to commission 120,000 barrels per stream day. He also leaded the 16.2-kilometer jet fuel pipeline linking its Horizon Emirates Jebel Ali Petroleum (HEJP) storage terminal in Jebel Ali to Al Maktoum International Airport, and the Vopak Horizon expansion (Black Pearl project), and the smooth operation transaction of EIL from EPPCO to ENOC
Fahad holds a higher diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree of applied science in Engineering Management from the Higher Colleges of Technology. Since joining Horizon Terminals in 2011 as a Senior Director of Terminals and Operations, Fahad has been an instrumental member to the business and its operation. He also concluded several leadership programmes including the Ashridge Leadership Process, INSEAD Executive Program, and the Chevron Operational Excellence (OE) Leadership Seminar.
