Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 03 May, 2020 –In efforts to enhance road safety, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MOID) and ENOC Group recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further invest in the infrastructure required to provide essential services for vehicle stops located on Federal Roads.

Under the agreement, ENOC Group and MOID will conduct feasibility studies to build compact stations at truck stops that are located on Federal Roads. The collaboration will also offer employment opportunities that will contribute to economic diversity, thus enabling sustainable development and expanding ENOC’s retail network across the UAE.

The agreement was attended virtually by H.E Doctor Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Cabinet Member and Minister of Infrastructure Development and H.E Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC and signed virtually H.E Eng. Hassan Mohammed Juma Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director, ENOC Retail, making this the first agreement to be signed virtually in the UAE.

H.E Doctor Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Cabinet Member and Minister of Infrastructure Development said: “The UAE dedicates significant resources to invest in infrastructure projects that propel the growth and development of all sectors in the country. We are committed to identifying opportunities that are aligned the UAE’s strategic direction, by forging collaborations across the government, public and private sectors. Our agreement with ENOC is a testament to these efforts that are geared towards financing infrastructure projects that will in turn alleviate financial burdens on the government and enhance infrastructural efficiencies in the UAE.”

“The UAE has made significant strides in setting a robust infrastructure, now operating a world-class roads and transport network, thereby enhancing the UAE’s global competitiveness. This places emphasis on the importance of forging collaborations and partnerships that will enable the UAE to achieve its goals and aspirations in the lead up to 2071.” He added.

H.E Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC said: “We are pleased to join hands with the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and remain committed to develop a robust infrastructure that enables easy and convenient access for fuel. We’ve continued to expand our retail network across the UAE, with plans to open 193 traditional stations by end 2021. We’ve also taken a bold step to reinvent fueling; with the introduction of ENOC Link; a mobile fueling concept to serve commercial fleets and of our compact station, which can be dismantled and relocated in 30 days. These compact stations will provide fuel to vehicle stops on the federal roads which are relatively remote and may not be in close proximity to a traditional service station, enabling us to ramp up our service station offering and network reach.”
