December 09, 2018

Dubai, UAE; December 9, 2018: Three Emiratis have been announced as winners of ENOC’s energy scholarship programme, which has been introduced to prospective graduate students in collaboration with Heriot Watt University.

Ahmad Bin Zaal and Haatem Al Ramsi, who are both ENOC employees, and Rehab Jasim, are the winners of the energy scholarship programme’s first cycle, allowing them to pursue a Master’s Degree in Energy at Heriot-Watt University in Dubai.

The energy scholarship programme was launched by ENOC Group earlier in 2018 with the aim of nurturing the skills of young Emiratis and encouraging them to pursue higher education; enabling them to further pursue professional careers in the energy sector.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “As a leading energy player, we truly believe that the success of an organisation is reliant on the sum of its parts; its people. Developing a skilled and dedicated workforce that will support Dubai and the larger UAE’s commercial, socio-economic and environmental aspirations is crucial to driving growth. We believe that winners of this scholarship will have an opportunity to strengthen their skillsets to be able to meet the evolving demands of the energy sector. We hope to continue supporting young, aspiring Emirati talents in future cycles of this scholarship programme.”

Professor Ammar Kaka, Provost and Vice- Principle at Heriot-Watt University Dubai says “We are delighted to see talented employees at ENOC embarking on a Master’s degree that will lead to knowledge and expertise needed for the future of a prospering industry. The course will complement the necessary competencies needed to heighten their learning. In addition, we are continuously pleased with our collaboration with ENOC, and it is a pleasure to link our specialist and pioneering teaching in Energy with aspiring professional candidates.”

Over the years, ENOC has continued to partner with educational institutions to offer training programmes that focus professional development of its employees. The Group also offers a new Graduate Development Programme that incorporates a 12-month rotation for graduates to help them learn about the different aspects of the energy value chain and identify their preferred career path within ENOC’s various businesses. This helps The Group retain talent, as it allows employees to find roles that keep them motivated and allows management to have a clear viewfinder into the employee’s strongest professional attributes.
